Say No to Ragging – A Zero-Tolerance Policy

At Nizam College, we are committed to provide a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment. Ragging is a criminal offense and is strictly prohibited on campus and in all associated facilities. We uphold a zero-tolerance policy towards ragging in any form.

What is Ragging?

Ragging includes any physical or mental abuse, teasing, humiliation, or harassment of new students by seniors. It can take various forms, such as:

  • Verbal abuse, name-calling, or offensive language
  • Physical assault or forced activities
  • Psychological intimidation and threats
  • Online harassment or bullying
  • Any act that causes mental distress or disrupts the academic experience

Legal Consequences of Ragging

Ragging is a punishable offense under The UGC Regulations on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions, 2009. Any student found guilty of ragging may face:

  • Suspension or expulsion from the institution
  • Cancellation of admission
  • Imprisonment and/or fines as per law
  • Disqualification from future education and career opportunities

If you or someone you know is facing ragging, do not hesitate to report it. Your identity will be kept confidential, and strict action will be taken against the perpetrators.
