The Department of Economics, Nizam College is one of the oldest Departments. Currently the Department has 6 Teachers 4 Professors and 2 Assistant Professors, one FIP Scholar and one part timer. Thus the Department can boast of having well qualified teaching faculty on its rolls. All the teachers are well exposed to teaching and research at different levels. The Department is offering UG and PG programmes. The Department is also having a very good seminar library with standard books and journals. The Department can boast of computer facilities also.

![]() Asst.Prof & HOD Dr. Etikala Purushotham, He is currently working as an Associate Professor in the Department of Economics at the Nizam College, Osmania University, Hyderabad, Telangana State. His area of interests is Agriculture and Sustainable Development, Trends in Globalisation and International Economics, Indian Economy and Telangana Economy. He has published in several national and international journals, and participated in many conferences and workshops. He has completed 07 PhD Scholars. |
![]() Asst. Professor (PTL) I, Dr. Boddu Yellaiah, popularly known as Daruvu Yellanna I am a multi-faceted genius. On one side, dedicated academic scholar and on the other and vibrant social worker. Now I am currently working as an Assistant Professor (P) in the Department of Economics at the Nizam College, Osmania University, Hyderabad, Telangana State since 4 years. My area of interests are Agriculture and Sustainable Development, Trends in Globalisation and Urbanisation, Tribal Education, and Rural Development. I have published in several national and international journals, and participated in many conferences and workshops. I was the recipient of the prestigious Research Fellowship to the Meritorious Students in Social Sciences (Economics) 2009-2010, a fellowship for pursuing doctoral research offered by the UGC. I am also an established author, lyricist, singer and activist in the state of Telangana. I have authored books titled Veeru Laara Vandanam (Salute to the Martyrs) and Oyuddham (the OU Battle for Telangana state). I have Published my Ph.D. thesis book entitled “Economics of Tribal Education – Role of NGOs in Telangana”. My song “Veerulara Vandanam” has become an indigenous icon for Telangana martyrs. While conducting distinguished research on the Dalits and the Tribals by invoking Ambedkarite ideology. |
